      “Superposition” is a thriller ride through Walton’s vision of the chaos that might ensue if scientists ever achieve the ability to step into the quantum world, with its inexplicable.   Vedral thinks this is because it depends on the quality of “superposition” which allows the sort of quantum-mechanical wave that describes electrons to be in two places at once.

    While quantum mechanics may involve uncertainty and superposition of states, it does not involve breaking physics' conservation laws (such as energy, charge, or momentum) in any experiment. And it does involve Heisenberg's uncertainty principle (you can't know both position and momentum to arbitrary accuracy).   In the language of physics, we say that the two springs are in a quantum superposition of the first spring oscillating and the second spring oscillating. What really happens when you disturb some isolated part of the field is that the quantum superposition expands to include an ever-larger number of springs.
